Gators

Alligators are extremely strong and dangerous.

How do I know if it is male or female?
  • The only way to tell if a gator is male or female is to stick a finger in its anus and if you hit something hard it is male.
It is an unpleasant thought but if you have to know thats the way to do it.

How many teeth are in a gators mouth?
  • An alligator can have as many as 80 teeth in its mouth at one time.
  • If a gator loses a tooth another tooth will grow back in its place.
  • It is estimated that in an alligators lifetime it could have 2-3 thousand teeth.
How does a gator kill?
  • An attack followed by the "death roll". A gator will start to roll in the water in order to take control and drowned its pray, particularly any pray large/strong enough to put up a struggle.

Snakes

There are a million different kinds of snakes. Some are venomous and some are not. Some nonvenomous snakes "constrict" meaning they wrap themselves around their pray and crush it before swallowing it whole.

How do I know if it is poisonous?
There are several ways to tell if the snake is poisonous or not.
  • Look at the eyes, If they are slit like a cats it IS poisonous. If the eyes are round like a humans it IS NOT poisonous.
  • If the scales remain in a cross pattern after the anus it IS poisonous.
  • And there is always the old rhyme "Red and Yellow kill a fellow, Red and Black friend to Jack" This is the easy way to distinguish a king snake from a coral snake.
