Snakes

There are a million different kinds of snakes. Some are venomous and some are not. Some nonvenomous snakes "constrict" meaning they wrap themselves around their pray and crush it before swallowing it whole.

How do I know if it is poisonous?
There are several ways to tell if the snake is poisonous or not.
  • Look at the eyes, If they are slit like a cats it IS poisonous. If the eyes are round like a humans it IS NOT poisonous.
  • If the scales remain in a cross pattern after the anus it IS poisonous.
  • And there is always the old rhyme "Red and Yellow kill a fellow, Red and Black friend to Jack" This is the easy way to distinguish a king snake from a coral snake.
